FEI Dallas Small Forums Orientation (formerly called Peer Groups)
Presented by Dr. Bert Parlee, Executive Coach, Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist, Stagen
Small Forums are small groups of 8-10 similarly situated peers that meet monthly in a high-trust setting to discuss professional and personal joys and challenges, sharing experiences from their own background which are often helpful in navigating life’s curveballs. CEO Netweavers has them, Vistage has them, Chief has them, YPO has them… and now FEI Dallas has them.
We are opening enrollment soon to form several new Small Forum groups for the first time since before the pandemic. Join us for this informational session to learn the personal and professional benefits of having a group of 8-10 similarly situated peers who truly understand the issues, stressors, joys and intensity that come with the types of roles that we hold within FEI, and are able to discuss in a high-trust setting.
In addition to traditional Small Forum groups which value diversity of membership, we are also hoping to form Small Forum groups for a few targeted membership areas:

Available Power and Viable Sites: Two Critical Factors That Will Drive Real Estate and Energy Development Through 2025 and Beyond
The energy and real estate industries have merged. Historically, energy, and the sites required to produce it, came from the subsurface and were not associated with “surface rights”, aka real estate. Fast forward 160 years from Colonel Drake’s first well in Pennsylvania, and now most new capital allocations for energy projects are going to renewables. Renewables require surface rights, which has led two major industries to hit head-on. Data Center, Solar, and BESS developers are all looking for viable real estate sites and real estate developers are now looking for available electrons. Innovation and integration of new data and processes will be required for both real estate and energy companies to move projects forward in 2025 and for the foreseeable future. Craig Kaiser | President and Co-Founder, LandGate
Open to FEI Dallas members, and non-members with financial or executive roles in the Energy sector.

Strategies to address the new SEC cyber disclosure rule (and how to do it!)
The SEC recently released a new cyber disclosure rule requiring public companies to disclose information about their cybersecurity governance practices as well as impacts associated with material cyber incidents. While they include information on what is required to be disclosed, they don’t address how organizations might design their processes and controls to accurately address those disclosure requirements. One approach may be to utilize the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) cybersecurity risk management framework.
